Gear

Below is a basic list of gear that will see you through most of the WPCA challenges. For some challenges you will need more and sometimes so specialist equipment.  If you don't have anything on the list below let me know as soon as you can and we can make arrangements.

  • Good shoes (either tramping boots, or good running shoes)
  • A back pack - for carrying your lunch, water and maybe a jacket on day trips
  • Thermals - these are much better than cotton shirts for keeping you warm, they also dry way quicker too
  • A couple of solid drink bottles - you don't want a cheap plastic one that might leak through your bag
  • Hats and Beanies - depending on how cold it is
  • Food - always depends on what you are doing, just make sure you have plenty of it
  • Rain Jackets - when it comes to this, you don't want to cut corners and go cheap, you also don't have to spend heaps of money. Look out for sales - you'll want a jacket that isn't too thick and heavy, but is going to keep the water out when you need it too
